Yaakov Kleeorin is a Senior Computational Biologist at Karius, specializing in machine and deep learning applications in next-generation sequencing and microbial diagnostics. Notable achievements include the development of a novel clinical filter for infectious disease diagnostics and an anomaly detection bot to enhance medical monitoring. Previously, as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago, Yaakov researched generative and interpretable statistical models for protein design while also establishing a novel auto-regularization scheme. Earlier roles include research and teaching positions at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where Yaakov contributed to significant research in quantum dots and lectured on physics to engineering students. Yaakov holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics, an MSc in Condensed Matter Physics, and a BSc in Physics and Electro-optics, all from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
