Björn Zoëga

Björn Zoëga is the current CEO at Karolinska University Hospital. Björn has held this position since February 2019. Prior to that, they were the CEO of Stockholm Spine Center from March 2016 to February 2019. Björn has also been the Chairman of the Scientific Board at Alvotech from March 2015 to May 2018, and the CMO at GHP from October 2017 to February 2019. Björn was also the CEO of Spine Center Göteborg from March 2017 to February 2019, and the CEO of Ortho Center Stockholm from September 2016 to June 2017. From November 2013 to January 2015, they were the COO of NextCODE Health LLC, and they were also the CEO of NextCODE Health Iceland hf. from November 2013 to January 2015. Björn has been an orthopedic spinal surgeon at Landspitali University Hospital since September 2002 and has held this position until December 2018. Prior to that, they were an orthopedic surgeon at Sahlgrenska University Hospital from January 1993 to December 2002.

Björn Zoëga has a PhD in Medicine from the University of Gothenburg, and also holds an MBBS from Reykjavik University. Björn is a certified specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery in Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, and has a full license to practice medicine in Sweden. Björn also has a degree in Science from Reykjavik College.
