Senior Manager, Process Development, Drug Product, CMC at Karuna Therapeutics

Srinath Muppalaneni has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Srinath currently works as a Manager of Process Development for Drug Product at Karuna Therapeutics. Before that, they were a Product Steward in Manufacturing Technical Services at Viatris, where they worked from November 2020 to July 2021.

Prior to their role at Viatris, Srinath worked at Mylan Pharmaceuticals as a Product Steward in Manufacturing Technical Services from September 2018 to November 2020. Their responsibilities included providing technical and project leadership for site transfers, product launches, and process improvement activities. Srinath also led teams in manufacturing experimental and validation batches and was involved in designing and executing experimental batches and process performance qualification activities.

Before joining Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Srinath was a Senior Formulation Scientist at Sancilio & Company from October 2016 to August 2018. In this role, they developed formulations and manufacturing processes for clinical, registration, and commercial batches of drugs and OTC products, prepared manufacturing documentation, and prepared technical documentation required for regulatory submissions.

Srinath also gained experience as a Summer Intern at Apotex Inc. in July and August 2016. During this time, they gained knowledge and understanding of business development, marketing, and regulatory affairs. Srinath conducted a comprehensive review of patents and literature and drafted a report for potential future projects. Srinath also received training in formulation development of adhesive transdermal drug delivery systems.

Srinath's early experience includes working as a Formulation Assistant at CUPSI from August 2008 to August 2011. In this role, they maintained a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment, drafted Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and formulated immediate and controlled-release microcrystalline cellulose beads for clinical trials.

Srinath Muppalaneni completed their education in a field related to pharmaceuticals and drug development. Srinath first attended Andhra University from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. Srinath then continued their studies at Campbell University from 2008 to 2010, earning a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Finally, from 2011 to 2016, Srinath attended Nova Southeastern University, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmaceutics and Drug Design.

In addition to their formal education, Srinath has also obtained several certifications. In August 2019, they received an Investigator Certification in Pharmaceutical Investigation and CAPA System Assessment and Training from NSF International - Health Sciences. In December 2017, they completed a certification in Managing Multiple Priorities, Projects and Deadlines from Pryor Learning | Fred Pryor Seminars | CareerTrack. In April 2013, Srinath obtained a certification in Introduction to Thermal Analysis for Material Characterization using DSC, TGA and DMA from PerkinElmer, Inc.
