Marina Mognon-Loyer

Project Leader, Brandon at KATIMAVIK

Having grown up in an Italo-Canadian household in Gatineau, located on the unceded territory of the Algonquin, an Anishinaabe people, Marina’s (she/her) interest for adventure and discovery was sparked at a very young age. She loves meeting new people and discovering new cultures and places, which is why she is grateful to have been able to pursue this interest by way of travel and work in over 30 countries before the age of 30.

Pursuing postsecondary studies in International Development and Humanitarian Aid Management enabled her to work on some impactful projects domestically and abroad. Her experience with different types of organizations ranges from nonprofits to federal government in various fields such as global health, education and culture.

Throughout, between and after completion of her degrees, Marina worked with youth from across Canada over the span of 10 years. She is grateful for the opportunity to have joined Katimavik and work with youth once more, within a program which has a lasting impact on its participants by allowing them to be empowered while positively contributing to their host community.
