Tom Potter

Tom Potter has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Tom has worked as a Senior Software Engineer and a Senior Software Engineer Team Lead at Katmai Government Services since July 2018. In these roles, they have led a team in migrating a legacy client/server application to a modern browser-based application. Tom has utilized various technologies such as Spring Boot, Keycloak, Traefik, and React for backend and frontend development. Tom has also worked with Docker-swarm and Kubernetes for deployments. Additionally, they have been responsible for maintaining a C/Java/Fortran legacy application.

Prior to their current role, Tom worked at Northrop Grumman from 2002 to 2018. During this time, they held various positions as a Software Engineer and Configuration Management. Tom was involved in updating software features, testing legacy software, and writing test tools. Tom also implemented new software features and threaded applications, resulting in improved product delivery time. Tom migrated legacy planning software to Java, implemented GUI capabilities, and developed complex mathematical models.

Tom also gained experience outside the software engineering field as a Franchise Owner at Sam and Louie's from 2012 to 2017. In this role, they managed various administrative tasks such as generating schedules, managing payroll, and filing government documents.

Furthermore, Tom had internship experiences at Rockwell Collins in 1999 and 2000, where they gained exposure to software engineering.
