Miles Sandler has a diverse range of work experience in the field of education and community outreach. They began their career as a Program Director at the Boys and Girls Club of Newburgh, where they helped develop an after-school program and eventually became the Program Director. Following that, Miles Sandler worked as a Site Director at the YWCA/Union Ave Center, managing the Healthy Kids Program at multiple before and afterschool sites.
In 2013, Miles Sandler joined the DC Promise Neighborhood Initiative as a National Urban Fellow. During this time, they focused on the organization's health agenda and worked on addressing health concerns in the target community. They also collaborated with various health organizations in DC and participated in a collective impact consortium dedicated to addressing food access and education.
In 2014, Miles Sandler joined the National League of Cities as a Senior Associate, Education, supporting municipal leaders in implementing policy and improving partnerships to enhance outcomes for children and youth. They managed three networks related to education policy and worked closely with mayors and city officials.
Currently, Miles Sandler is serving as the Director of Policy and Engagement at the Kauffman Foundation, where they are responsible for designing and executing an education strategy that enhances awareness, generates engagement, and drives action. They work in collaboration with the Public Affairs and Education team to improve educational outcomes for children and youth in the Kansas City Metro Area.
Miles Sandler pursued their education with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from SUNY New Paltz, which was completed between 2006 and 2008. Miles continued their educational journey by obtaining a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Baruch College, attending the institution from 2013 to 2014.
