Ivan J. Dolowich is a nationally recognized, AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney experienced in litigating and managing directors and officers (D&O) liability, financial-related lines, professional liability, errors and omissions (E&O), and bad faith matters.

Mr. Dolowich’s long record of accomplishments as a coverage attorney and litigator includes managing litigation and claims in all aspects of property and casualty insurance. He handles claims involving representations and warranties, directors and officers, ERISA and fiduciary matters, insurance agents, brokers, investment advisors, attorneys, accountants, architects, engineers, insurance companies, financial institutions, public companies, and not-for-profit organizations and their boards. He is involved with crafting representations and warranties and directors and officers liability policies and endorsements.

Mr. Dolowich also handles all phases of coverage advice and litigation involving first party property and business interruption issues nationwide, including claims related to 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Named Storm Sandy, COVID-19 and other CAT events. His past experience also includes serving as national counsel for global insurers so as to assist in creating a consistent approach to handling these claims. As with all matters, he places emphasis on early resolution of claims and litigated matters, including arbitration, mediation and appraisal. Mr. Dolowich also routinely assists business partners, including claims and underwriting teams, in identifying underwriting and coverage issues, as well as implementation of best practices from a risk management standpoint.

His commercial litigation experience includes successful prosecution and defense of securities and consumer class actions as well as handling complex business fraud and conspiracy disputes. He has served as an expert in D&O disputes among insurers and as a mediator in class action litigation fee disputes. Additionally, Mr. Dolowich works on cyber insurance coverage and policy drafting issues for the last 7 years.
