Erik Swanson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Erik currently holds the position of Senior Vice President, Data and Analytics at Kaufman Hall, a role they assumed in February 2021. In this role, Erik is responsible for leading the data team and shaping the vision and roadmap for advanced data analytics in healthcare. Erik also oversees the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning and manages a team of data scientists and engineers. Prior to this role, Erik served as Vice President, Data and Analytics, Assistant Vice President, Performance Improvement, and Senior Associate, Performance Improvement at Kaufman Hall. Before joining Kaufman Hall, Erik worked as a Consultant - Performance Improvement at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in 2013. Erik also served as a Senior Research Specialist at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 2009 to 2012. Erik's earlier experiences include being the 117th President of the Union at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and working as a Research and Development Engineer at DFine, Inc.
Erik Swanson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2008. Erik then pursued a Master's degree in Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, graduating in 2012. In 2013, they completed a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in Health Policy and Management at Columbia University.
