Maija Sarpo

Maija Sarpo is an experienced professional with a strong background in environmental management and planning. Currently serving as a Planner and Head of Quality and Environmental Management at HKL - HST - Helsinki City Transport since June 2017, Maija has previously held the position of Environmental Expert at Palmia Oy from April 2012 to June 2017, where responsibilities included maintaining and developing the environmental management system, environmental reporting, staff training, and stakeholder communication. Earlier experience includes a role as Community Coordinator at Vantaan kaupunki from 2008 to 2011. Maija holds a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree in Environmental Science from the University of Helsinki, obtained in 2008.
