The founding team at Kayhan Space has a history in both the business and engineering industries. Two of the co-founders have degrees in management information systems and industrial engineering from UNLV Lee Business School and Sharif University of Technology respectively. The other two co-founders have degrees in aerospace engineering and astronautical engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and the University of Southern California. All four founders have experience working in the space industry, with three of them having worked at NASA in some capacity.
