Michael Bates

Michael Bates, Jr. is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in investment accounting and fund administration. Currently serving as a Senior Investment Accountant at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P. since March 2021, Michael performs critical tasks such as cash and position reconciliations, partner income calculations, and preparation of financial statements. Previously, Michael held multiple roles at BNY Mellon from June 2012 to March 2021, including Fund Accounting Supervisor, where responsibilities included leading a fund accounting team, managing NAV productions for complex funds, and implementing process improvements. Michael also has experience in program coordination at Drexel University and outreach initiatives with the North American Mission Board, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from Drexel University.
