Richard Tapalaga is a seasoned Director at Qualcomm Ventures, where responsibilities include leading the firm's global early-stage practice with a focus on investment sectors such as augmented and virtual reality, IoT, robotics, mobile gaming, and connected device ecosystems. With a robust portfolio that features over 180 active investments, Qualcomm Ventures has achieved notable exits including Zoom, Fitbit, and Waze. Additionally, Richard holds investor roles at several innovative companies, such as Airspace Technologies, TRIPP, Inc., Brain Corp, thatgamecompany, RealWear, Inc., Magic Leap, The VOID, Kazuhm, Inc., and Playdek Inc. Richard earned an MBA from Cornell University and the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from NYU Stern School of Business.
