Sergio Rodríguez de Rivera Garrido

Sergio Rodríguez de Rivera Garrido, MSc has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical operations and research. Sergio currently holds the position of Associate Director, Clinical Monitoring at KCR, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Manager, Clinical Operations at Syneos Health Clinical Solutions from 2017 to 2023, where they managed Clinical Trial Managers across the EMEA region.

Before joining Syneos Health Clinical Solutions, Sergio worked at inVentiv Health Clinical from 2014 to 2017, initially as a Manager, Clinical Monitoring for Spain and Portugal, and later as a Manager, Clinical Monitoring for Spain, Italy, and Greece. During this time, they managed CRAs and ensured compliance with policies, guidelines, and GCPs.

Sergio's earlier experience includes working as a Clinical Project Leader at Sanofi in 2014, where they led CRA teams and maintained quality and compliance in clinical trials. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior CRA at Quintiles Transnational from 2008 to 2014, conducting monitoring visits and ensuring adherence to protocols and regulations in international clinical trials.

In addition to their industry experience, Sergio has also served as an independent expert for the European Commission, evaluating research and innovation proposals. Sergio has a strong academic background, including an internship in Pharmacy and Analytical Chemistry at the University of Copenhagen in 2008. Sergio also completed a hospital work placement at Hospital Carlos III in 2007.

Sergio Rodríguez de Rivera Garrido, MSc studied at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2001 to 2008, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Pharmacy, with a focus on Servicios sanitarios/Ciencias de la salud, general.
