Waqar Ahmed

Waqar Ahmed has a diverse work experience spanning from 2015 to the present. Waqar started their career as a Software Engineer in the Pakistan Army and worked there from November 2015 to July 2019.

In February 2020, Waqar joined MediaPark (SMC-Pvt.) Ltd. as a C++ Developer. Waqar contributed to the development of a DPOS based cryptocurrency, implementing the TCP-based peer-to-peer network and a desktop application for a wallet. Waqar'semployment at MediaPark ended in August 2020.

Shortly after, in August 2020, Waqar became a Senior Software Engineer at Afiniti, specifically working in the Routing Engine team. Waqar played a key role in improving performance by enhancing algorithms, utilizing cache-friendly data structures, and distributing workloads using threads. Waqar's tenure at Afiniti ended in October 2021.

Simultaneously, in October 2019, Waqar took on the role of a Maintainer at QOwnNotes. Waqar'sresponsibilities in this position are unspecified.

Since November 2019, Waqar has been a Developer at KDE. Waqar'scontributions span various projects such as Kate Text Editor, Clazy static analyzer (focusing on Qt C++ code), and KDE Frameworks. All of their work at KDE can be accessed publicly on invent.kde.org.

Most recently, starting in July 2021, Waqar has assumed the position of Senior Software Engineer at KDAB. Waqar is currently leading a team in the development of Miltenyi Biotec's MACS IQ High Content Control medical software, utilizing C++ 17 and the Qt framework. The software is data-intensive, involving the use of tables to display information.

Waqar Ahmed completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they attended Army Public School from 2009 to 2011, where they completed their FSc Pre Engineering and studied Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science.
