Peter Phung M.D.

Peter Phung MD, MBA has an extensive work experience in the healthcare field. Peter is currently the Director of Palliative Care at Keck Medicine of USC since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at UCLA Health where they held various roles including Associate Director of Palliative Care Program from July 2020 to January 2023, Assistant Director of Palliative Care Program from July 2019 to June 2020, and Full Time Clinical Palliative Care Physician from July 2016 to June 2019. Before joining UCLA Health, they were a Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellow at UC San Diego Health System from July 2015 to June 2016. Peter also has experience as a Medical Resident - Specialty Internal Medicine at Scripps Health from May 2012 to June 2015. In addition, they served as a Member of the Board of Trustees at California Medical Association from October 2013 to December 2014.

Peter Phung MD, MBA has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information & Computer Science from UC Irvine, which they obtained from 2001 to 2006. Peter then pursued a medical degree (MD) from St. George's University from 2006 to 2011. Peter furthered their education by earning an MBA degree with a focus on Operations and Organizational Behavior from the University of California, San Diego - Rady School of Management from 2009 to 2012. Peter Phung MD, MBA has also obtained several certifications, including Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Epic Physician Builder certification, and completion of the CTSI Training Program in Translational Science Certificate Program at the University of California, Los Angeles.
