Tanner Blackburn

Tanner Blackburn has a strong background in engineering and construction. Tanner is currently the Vice President of Engineering at KELLER, where they coordinate and maintains geotechnical and geo-structural engineering design-build capabilities. Tanner also administers technical innovation, quality management, and environmental sustainability initiatives. At Hayward Baker, Tanner served as the Chief Engineer, providing engineering support for project managers and managing technical research and development initiatives. Tanner also worked as a Project Manager, overseeing scope development, project estimating, planning, scheduling, and construction supervision. Prior to their industry experience, Tanner was an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University, specializing in construction, geotechnical, and structures. Tanner'sresearch focused on geo-structural instrumentation, deep excavation design in urban environments, and deep foundation load transfer mechanics.

Tanner Blackburn obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Middlebury College from 1995 to 1998. Tanner later pursued a PhD in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University, completing their studies from 2000 to 2005. In addition to their degrees, they have certifications as a Diplomate in Geotechnical Engineering from the American Society of Civil Engineers and as a Professional Engineer in California, Washington D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Delaware, and Michigan.
