In practically every deal in which Paul is involved, he is able to establish common ground among deal participants in order to get the transaction completed quickly and efficiently.

As a result, Paul is retained to serve as lead transactional counsel for a wide array of financing transactions. For example, Paul represented a major life insurance company in connection with an $800 million mortgage and mezzanine financing secured by a portfolio of multifamily apartment complexes in California, the District of Columbia, Virginia and New York. He also represented a CMBS lender in connection with a $460 million mortgage loan to a private equity real estate fund secured by a portfolio of 100 office buildings located throughout the United States.

Clients and colleagues alike appreciate that Paul consistently brings valuable perspective to every transaction in which he is involved. He focuses on understanding and incorporating each client’s often unique tolerance for risk into the transaction at hand. Over many years of practice, Paul has developed a systematic approach to real estate finance that leverages his client’s position and optimizes his experience, consensus-building and problem-solving skills. Notably, a selection of Paul’s clients includes major financial institutions, some of which he has represented for more than 20 years.
