Jani Kumpulainen

Jani Kumpulainen has a diverse background in the welding industry, with experience in both technical and managerial roles. Jani started their career at Kemppi Oy in 2008 as a Graduate Student, conducting research and development on MIG/MAG welding processes. Jani then worked as a Welding Engineer, specializing in the development of arc welding machines and different MIG/MAG applications. In their role as Solution Manager, Welding Technology, they managed projects related to implementing welding quality standards and collaborated with universities and research centers for welding research.

In 2013, Kumpulainen joined Metso Flow Control as a Welding Engineer, where they were responsible for welding coordination and ensuring global welding quality at valve manufacturing factories around the world.

Kumpulainen then moved on to EWM AG in 2017, working as an Area Sales Manager, before returning to Kemppi in 2018 as a Welding Engineer in Global Services. Jani currently holds the position of Welding Technology Manager at Kemppi as of December 2019.

Jani Kumpulainen received their M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Metallurgy from the University of Oulu, where they studied from 2003 to 2008. In 2010 and 2011, they attended LUT University, obtaining a degree as an International Welding Engineer. In 2013 and 2014, Jani attended AEL, but the degree and field of study were not specified. Finally, from 2014 onwards, they pursued a NDT Level 2 Certificate at Inspecta.
