João Amaral has a diverse work experience spanning from 2013 to present. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as an Intern - Incentives & Credits Management at IAPMEI - Agência para a Competitividade e Inovação. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Management Consulting Analyst at Accenture. Since 2018, they have been working at kencko, first as Director of Social and Environmental Responsibility, then as Head of Operations & Sustainability, and currently as Operations Lead. As Head of Operations & Sustainability, João was responsible for scaling kencko's operations from 250 to 2000+ daily orders and helping to grow an incredible team from 6 to 20+ people. João also oversaw Fulfilment Operations, Inventory and Shipping Management, and the Sustainability initiatives, including expanding the fulfilment operation into a 2nd fulfilment center in a different continent and coordinating internal team's efforts that led to the company's official B Corp certification in late 2020.

João Amaral attended Colégio Valsassina from 1996 to 2009, where they completed up to High School. João then attended Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics from 2009 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). From 2012 to 2014, they attended Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics again and earned an International Master of Science in Business and Administration in Strategy and Entrepreneurship. In 2013, they also attended HEC Montréal for an Exchange Programme, studying International Economic Environment, Consumer Behavior, Logistics, and International Trade. In 2016, they obtained a Diploma de español como lengua extranjera DELE - nivel B2 from Instituto Cervantes. In 2017, they completed (via Coursera) The Age of Sustainable Development at Columbia University.
