Caleb Hurst-Hiller

VP of Community Learning at Kendall Square Association

Caleb is an educator, working for the past twenty years in public education.

Before joining the KSA team, Caleb consulted with, and coached, school leaders across the Commonwealth, focusing on issues of equity, governance, and effective leadership. As Head of School at Community Charter School of Cambridge (a proud member of the KSA), Caleb was responsible for adherence to the school’s mission, academic program development, student achievement, personnel and staff development, facilities, operations, long-range planning, and financial management. Caleb was a founding member of the CCSC faculty in 2005 and wore many hats prior to leading the school, including that of High School Principal, middle and high school humanities teacher, instructional leader, and basketball coach. He has extensive board experience, serving on the boards of CCSC, the KSA, most recently as treasurer, the Massachusetts Charter Public School Association, and Unity Prep in Brooklyn. He is currently a member of Cambridge’s Community Benefits Advisory Committee.

Caleb earned a B.A. in history from Brown University and an M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he was an Urban Scholars Fellow. Despite roots in New York City, Caleb is a proud Cantabridgian, living with his wife and three kids, two of whom attend Cambridge Public Schools. He can commonly be found on his bike, heading to his kids’ school, the KSA office, from one meeting to the next, or home.
