Anup Bhattacharya

Anup Bhattacharya is an accomplished materials scientist with extensive experience in research and development, currently serving as a Staff Engineer and R&D Manager at Kennametal since June 2018. Anup's expertise includes managing the R&D department and overseeing project management related to extrusion technology platform development, focusing on material design and optimization. Prior to this role, Anup held positions at Saint-Gobain Research India Pvt Ltd as a Group Leader and Functional Head for Ceramics, and as a Team Leader in Glass Refractory, where Anup managed project portfolios and led the establishment of a ceramic lab to support refractory business. Anup’s earlier experience includes senior management roles at Aditya Birla Group, research associate positions at ETH Zurich and other esteemed institutions, and a solid academic foundation with a PhD in Material Science and Engineering from Technische Universität Clausthal.
