Kirk Olsen is a Staff Engineer at Kennedy Jenks since July 2021, bringing a strong background in water treatment and environmental research. Prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Michigan from September 2019 to June 2021, where collaboration with the Ann Arbor Water Treatment Plant involved analyzing treatment processes and assessing bacterial counts. Earlier roles include working as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Michigan Geomicrobiology Lab, focusing on culturing native cyanobacteria strains, and at the ClaSp Department, studying ionosphere/thermosphere coupling using data from NASA's MAVEN spacecraft. Olsen holds a Master of Engineering in Water Process Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Systems Science and Engineering with a concentration in Space Weather, complemented by a minor in Physics, both from the University of Michigan.
