James Smith P.Eng has a diverse work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. James started their career in 2007 as a Maintenance Worker at Kralts Greenhouses and then worked as a Maintenance Co-op Student at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada in 2012.
In 2013, James worked as an Engineering Assistant at Christie Digital Systems and continued in the same role in 2014, also serving as an Engineering Assistant in the Environmental Lab. James was also involved with the Conestoga Engineering Society as the Vice-President External, representing the society at conferences and acting as a liaison with engineering organizations.
James joined Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in 2014 as a Student Assistant for a special project, where they contributed to the design and assembly of a friction stir welding machine. James also served as a Teaching Assistant for the course "Analysis and Design of Mechanisms" in early 2015.
After their time at the college, James worked at Metalumen Manufacturing, Inc. as a Project Coordinator/Junior Designer for a few months before joining North in 2016. At North, they held the role of Mechanical Design Engineer until 2020.
From 2020 to early 2023, James worked at Google as a Mechanical Engineer. Currently, they are employed at Kenota Health as a Mechanical Engineer.
Throughout their career, James has gained experience in various aspects of mechanical engineering, including design, project coordination, maintenance, and teaching.
James Smith P.Eng completed their OSS Diploma at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School from 2007 to 2011. Later, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Systems Engineering from Conestoga College between 2011 and 2015.
