Sabrina Shrestha

Sabrina Shrestha has a diverse range of work experience. Sabrina started their career at FIMRC: Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children, where they served as the Vice President from September 2013 to April 2015. Sabrina then volunteered as a Healthy Campus Crew Volunteer at Peer Health Education, Health & Counselling Center from September 2012 to August 2013. Sabrina also held the position of Secretary at FIMRC from September 2012 to June 2013.

In 2012, they joined Let's Talk Science as a volunteer for a brief period in May 2016.

Sabrina's academic background includes roles at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where they worked as a Research Assistant at The Erclik Lab from May 2015 to August 2016. During their time there, they conducted research on the developmental neurobiology of fruit flies. Sabrina also worked as a Chemistry Laboratory Assistant from September 2014 to April 2015 and served as a Lecture Note-taker from September 2012 to April 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Reviewer for Global Climate Change from December 2013 to January 2014.

At McMaster University, Sabrina served as a Research Assistant II at the McMaster Platelet Immunology Laboratory from January 2019 to August 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the same laboratory from September 2016 to December 2018. Sabrina also worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Principles of Virology course from September 2016 to December 2017.

More recently, Sabrina has worked at Kenota Health, an innovative medical technology company. Sabrina served as an Assay Development Scientist (R&D) from January 2021 to December 2021 and as a Jr. Assay Development Scientist (R&D) from August 2019 to December 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Assay Team Lead & Jr. Regulatory Associate, starting in January 2022.

Sabrina Shrestha completed their education with a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Medical Sciences with a specialization in Blood & Vasculature/ Immunology from McMaster University in the years 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, they obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science (HBSc) degree from the University of Toronto Mississauga between 2011 and 2015, with a specialization in Biology and a minor in Environmental Science. Additionally, Sabrina Shrestha obtained a certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) - Stage 1 from the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY, in April 2019.
