Jared Slanina

Jared Slanina is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in managing communication functions across multiple sectors. Currently serving as the Communications Manager at the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park since May 2011, Jared oversees media relations, social media, graphic design, and content production for various publications. As Managing Editor for Black Shoe Diaries at Vox Media since February 2012, Jared creates and edits website content while training staff members. In addition to these roles, Jared has been an Adjunct Professor at Kent State University, teaching Public Relations Theory and Management, and also serves as a Social Media Editor for Kentired.com. Prior experience includes a Public Relations and Marketing Assistant role at 89.7 WKSU and involvement as Field Director for the Obama Campaign for Change. Jared holds a Master of Arts in Public Relations and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Kent State University.
