Rail Operations Engineer at Keolis Downer

Amélie Girard has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Rail Operations Engineer at Keolis Downer since April 2022. In this position, they lead the Rail Operations workstream for heavy rail, metro, and light rail tenders.

Prior to Keolis Downer, Amélie worked at Groupe Keolis as a Railway Operations Engineer from July 2019 to April 2022. Here, they conducted operational studies and simulations using OpenTrack and Railsys to support subsidiaries during key operational phases.

From July 2016 to July 2019, Amélie worked at SYSTRA as a Railway Operations Engineer, where they were involved in the design and testing phases of various projects. Notable projects include a comparative study of signalling systems on the Marseille-Vintimille line and the development of operations plans for the Lusail Light Rail Transit in Qatar.

Before SYSTRA, Amélie worked at SNCF Réseau as an Assistant Manager in the Safety and Production department from January 2014 to July 2016. Their responsibilities included overseeing safety processes for 14 signalling boxes on the eastern Paris railway network.

Prior to that, they worked at SNCF as a Team Manager and Operational Manager from November 2011 to January 2014. Amélie managed a team of 30 people and was responsible for safety management and local investigations on the Meaux railway sector.

Amélie also gained research experience at the Partnership Research Center Alcan de Voreppe/Oxford Materials (University of Oxford) in 2010 and completed an engineering internship at Alstom Transport in 2009.

Amélie holds a student position at the MATEIS laboratory and also worked as a Continuous Improvement Assistant at RioTinto Alcan and a private tutor at Atouts Domiciles Services Rovaltain.

Amélie Girard attended INSA Lyon - Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon from 2004 to 2009, where they obtained their degree in Engineering. Their field of study was "Sciences et Génie des Matériaux," with a specialization in "Matériaux de Structure et Durabilité."
