Anthony Johnston

Anthony Johnston has a diverse work history spanning multiple industries and roles. Anthony currently works at Keolis Downer as the Head of HR, a position they started in October 2022. Prior to this, Anthony worked at Downer EDI Ltd, where they held the roles of People and Culture Operations Manager from May 2022 to January 2023, and Senior HRBP - Infrastructure Projects from September 2020 to April 2022.

Before joining Downer EDI Ltd, Anthony worked at EnerMech as an HR Business Partner from June 2018 to September 2020. In this role, they supported client groups in the energy and infrastructure industries to manage HR and IR strategies, programs, systems, and processes.

Prior to EnerMech, Anthony worked at RCR Tomlinson as an HR Advisor from October 2015 to June 2018. Anthony provided operational support and advice to line management and contributed to HR initiatives and projects.

Anthony also worked at Active Tree Services as an HR Business Partner from February 2015 to October 2015. In this role, they partnered with the business to implement operational HR strategies to improve employee performance and productivity.

Before that, Anthony worked at KOMATSU Australia Pty Limited, where they held the roles of HR Advisor from April 2011 to February 2015, and HR Coordinator from June 2010 to March 2011. Anthony provided HR support to the global organization, which manufactures earthmoving, mining, construction, and utility equipment.

Earlier in their career, Anthony worked at Base Backpackers and Backpackers World Travel, both under the Recreational Tourism Group. At Base Backpackers, they were the HR Coordinator from May 2007 to June 2010, responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and procedures. At Backpackers World Travel, they were a Team Leader from May 2005 to May 2007.

Anthony's career started at Commonwealth Bank, where they worked as a Sales and Service Representative from February 2004 to March 2005.

Anthony Johnston graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the University of Newcastle in the period from 1995 to 1998. Later, from 2008 to 2010, they obtained a Diploma in HR from AHRI specializing in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration. In 2015, Anthony completed their education at the University of Newcastle by obtaining a Master of Business degree with a focus on Business/Commerce, General.
