Carmen Derby

Carmen Derby is an accomplished business and facilities manager with extensive experience in management, bookkeeping, and event planning. Currently serving as the Business & Facilities Manager and Office Manager at Ketel Thorstenson, LLP since June 2020, Carmen applies a strong background in accounting services gained since joining the firm in May 2019. Previous roles include Owner, Sales & Marketing/Event Coordinator at Canyon Lake Resort, where responsibilities encompassed event planning, customer relations, and business management from January 2002 to November 2022. Earlier positions also include Office Manager & Bookkeeper at Derby Outdoor Advertising, Executive Director for both the Black Hills Advertising Federation and United Downtown, showcasing a rich history in marketing, public relations, and financial management. Carmen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of South Dakota, earned from 1976 to 1980.
