Snigdha Sarkar has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Snigdha is currently working at KETIV Technologies, Inc. as a Senior CFD Application Engineer. In this position, they lead technical discovery calls to identify customer needs and challenges, and provides technical presentations, demonstrations, and software evaluations for ANSYS CFD solutions. Snigdha also supports existing customers by resolving technical queries and offering CFD simulation guidance.
Prior to their current role, Snigdha worked at Caterpillar Inc. as a Thermal Engineer, specializing in Underhood/CFD analysis. Here, they conducted machine-level thermal analysis using CFD tools and assessed thermal risks for hundreds of underhood components in multiple products. Snigdha thoroughly studied at-risk components, assigning boundary conditions for heat and mass transfer modeling.
Before joining Caterpillar, Snigdha conducted research as part of their Master's Thesis at the University of Cincinnati. Their thesis focused on numerical investigation of vapor and gaseous cavitation in squeeze film damper bearings. Snigdha simulated low-Re lubricant flow and modeled vapor and gaseous cavitation using ANSYS Fluent.
Snigdha's research experience also includes working as a Research Assistant for a UCRI project in collaboration with GE Aviation. In this role, they modeled lubricant flow in squeeze film damper bearings and verified computations through analytical comparisons. Additionally, they wrote UDF in C programming language to render mesh motion.
Aside from their engineering roles, Snigdha has also held positions as a Graduate Assistant for the WISE 2014 program at the University of Cincinnati, where they assisted in organizing the program and reviewing applications, and as an Intern at Delta Cables & Automotive Systems in India.
Snigdha Sarkar began their career as a Summer Intern at GMR Group, where they studied HVAC and firefighting plans for a newly constructed terminal and supervised the installation and insulation of ducts.
Throughout their career, Snigdha Sarkar has gained expertise in CFD analysis, thermal engineering, numerical modeling, and research. Their experience in various industries and roles demonstrates their adaptability and strong technical skills.
Snigdha Sarkar obtained a Master's Degree in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, from the years 2013 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Maharshi Dayanand University, from 2008 to 2012. Their earliest documented education is from Delhi Public School - R. K. Puram, where the specific degree and field of study are not provided. In addition to their formal education, Snigdha Sarkar obtained the ANSYS Base Technical Certification - Fluids from Ansys in November 2021.
