Darren Klein has a solid work experience in the field of software engineering and technology. Darren is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Kevala since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Elixir Developer at Headway from May 2021 to April 2022.
From November 2016 to May 2021, Darren worked as a Software Engineer at Circl.es. During their tenure, they were responsible for building a Phoenix/Elixir REST API for user and resource management, a NodeJS app for handling user payment information, and contributed to an open-source Ecto adapter for DynamoDB.
In 2020, Darren worked as a Software Engineer at New York City Audubon for the dBird project from September 2020 to March 2021. Before that, they held the role of Technology Committee Co-Chair at Bushwick Food Coop from March 2018 to June 2019. In this role, they built Python and PHP web apps and scripts to support the coop's operations and management and facilitated monthly committee meetings.
Further back in their career, Darren served as the Public Program and Outreach Manager and Full-Stack Developer at New York City Audubon from June 2014 to April 2017. Darren also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The New School from January 2014 to June 2014, a Sustainability Intern at Javits Center from September 2013 to March 2014, and a Guitar Instructor at Portland Parks & Recreation from September 2005 to March 2012.
Darren Klein obtained a Bachelor's degree in Music from Binghamton University, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Darren later pursued a Master's of Science in Environmental Policy at The New School from 2012 to 2014.
