Devin Mireles

Graphics Associate at Kevin Barry Art Advisory

Devin Mireles is a graphics associate at Kevin Barry Art Advisory. Devin has a long history of working in the art industry, starting as a puppet fabricator and animation assistant at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. As a puppet fabricator, Devin was responsible for constructing articulated puppets and props for use in stop-motion animation. This included sculpting, casting, painting, silicone seaming, sewing, and wig styling. In addition to fabricating puppets, Devin was also responsible for performing "last looks" on set, ensuring all characters were clean and camera-ready.

Devin's time at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios also involved designing and printing 2D die-cut sticker elements for character facial expressions, using the Adobe Creative Suite. When puppets or assets were broken or damaged, it was Devin's responsibility to inspect and repair them. Devin attended meetings on approved character designs and discussed proper fabrication methods to achieve desired effects. Devin also studied storyboards and animatics in order to thoughtfully and efficiently engineer puppets to the director's desired specifications. Throughout the work week, Devin coordinated with production leads on priorities, schedule changes, and various assignments. Devin also made material and supply runs throughout the LA area.

At Kevin Barry Art Advisory, Devin is responsible for reporting weekly productivity to the head of the puppet department and supply inventory needs to the puppet department coordinator. Devin also sands, paints, and seals 3D-printed elements. Some of the clients Devin has worked with include Crackle - “SuperMansion” season 2 & 3 and Adult Swim - "Robot Chicken" season 9.
