Brigitte Lapointe

Brigitte LaPointe has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Brigitte is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Strategic Initiatives at UPHP, where they also served as a Corporate Marketing Manager. Brigitte worked as a Technical Assistant at Inter Tribal Council of Michigan and as a Foundation Associate at Great Lakes Recovery Centers. Additionally, Brigitte LaPointe served as a Program Director at Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Northern Michigan University.

Brigitte LaPointe has a diverse education history. In 2007-2009, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sports Science from Northern Michigan University. Brigitte further pursued their education and earned a Master's degree in Exercise Science from the same university in 2013-2015. In 2011-2012, Brigitte earned a Master's Certificate in Performance Improvement - Training & Development from Northern Michigan University. Later, in 2019-2020, they attended Michigan State University and completed a Master of Science degree specializing in Management, Strategy, and Leadership.

Brigitte LaPointe has also completed additional certifications to enhance their professional credentials. Brigitte obtained a Board of Directors certification from the Michigan Fitness Foundation in August 2019. Additionally, they hold an American Sports & Fitness Association Certified Personal Trainer certification. Brigitte is also a board member of the Lake Superior Community Partnership and a committee member of the Presidents committee on Diversity at Northern Michigan University. Lastly, they are a part of the Governors Council on Physical Fitness, Health, and Sports, representing the State of Michigan.

In 2022, Brigitte pursued further education by attending Harvard Business School, where they obtained a certificate in Leading People and Investing to Build Sustainable Communities.
