Mikaela Händén

Mikaela H. is an experienced Health Information Manager and Clinical Coder currently employed at The Royal Melbourne Hospital since May 2021, where responsibilities include the collection, preparation, and quality assurance of documents in electronic medical records, as well as processing Release of Information requests. Previously, Mikaela completed an 11-week Health Information Management placement at the Victorian Cancer Agency, contributing to the agency's Research Impact Framework. Additional placements at Bendigo Health and Northern Health provided exposure to traditional HIM roles and insights into the HIM environment. Mikaela H. holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Medical Classification)/Bachelor of Health Information Management from La Trobe University and has also studied Bachelor of Nursing (Pre-Registration) at the same institution.
