Walt Wells

Walt Wells is an experienced technology professional specializing in machine learning and data infrastructure. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Khan Academy, Walt previously held multiple roles at Progressive Insurance, where contributions included leading the development of a scalable machine learning services platform and spearheading the creation of an enterprise data orchestration platform. Prior to that, Walt was the Director of Operations at the Center for Computational Science Research, overseeing various research-oriented initiatives. Additional experience includes management consulting for nonprofits at Cause Effective, work as an independent musician, and technical roles at the American Indian Studies Research Institute. Walt holds an MS in Data Science from The City University of New York and a BA in Ethnomusicology & Folklore from Indiana University Bloomington.
