Helen Beckner

Helen B. is currently a Watch Analyst at Kharon since 2021. Prior to this, they were a Senior Analyst at TD International, LLC (TDI) from 2020. In 2019, they were a Research Analyst - Alfa Fellowship Program for Control Risks, a competitive international initiative run by Cultural Vistas in the U.S. and fully funded by Alfa Bank. From 2017-2019, they were a Europe, Russia/CIS Intelligence Analyst at WorldAware. From 2014-2017, they were an Education Volunteer at Peace Corps, where they designed and delivered English language curriculum to 150 students over 20 hours per week in collaboration with two Georgian nationals, formulated and executed a complete 30-hour 1-year long information technology curriculum for 25 Georgian teachers, and designed a 6-month long curriculum for a youth after-school program incorporating physical fitness, nutrition, and leadership instruction. In 2013, they were an Intern Analyst-Americas Team at iJET International and a Strength & Conditioning/ Weight Room Manager and Novice Rowing Coach at National Cathedral School. In 2012, they were a Research Assistant at Center of Hemispheric Defense Studies at the National Defense University, where they gathered, translated, and summarized articles relevant to Mexican-United States security relations in order to write briefings which were shared with the Director of the Center and to the U.S. Department of Defense Directors of the Northern and Southern Command Centers. In 2011, they were an Assistant to Coaches at Team Concepts, Inc. and in 2010, they were Co-president at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Helen B. has an education history that includes a Masters of Science in European Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in International Studies and Spanish, and International Relations and National Security Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Helen also holds a High School Diploma from the National Cathedral School. Additionally, they have 30 hours of CERT Training in CPR/AED; Disaster Preparedness; Fire Safety; Damage Assessment; Medical Triage; Treatment and Transport; Search and Rescue; Incident Command System; Disaster Psychology; and Terrorism Awareness, obtained in February 2014 from the Montgomery County Volunteer Fire/Rescue Association.
