Nilesh Shirbhate

Nilesh Shirbhate has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Nilesh is currently the Director of Engineering at Kickdrum, a position they have held since April 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Cisco from April 2016 to March 2019, where they served as an Engineering Manager for the IoT/IOx and Fog Computing division. In this role, Nilesh managed the development of Cisco's Fog Director and Cisco App Hosting Framework products, which enable fog computing for applications on the network edge.

From 2010 to 2016, Nilesh worked at NetApp in two different roles. Nilesh started as an Engineering Manager in the Manageability Products Group (MPG), responsible for leading a team of engineers in developing NetApp SnapCenter software. Later, they transitioned to the role of Engineering Manager in Data Center Solutions Engineering, where they contributed to the development of NetApp's data center solutions.

Before joining NetApp, Nilesh spent seven years at Sun Microsystems, India. From 2008 to 2010, they were a Product Owner in the Data Center Solutions group, where they built enterprise-class products focusing on data center management capabilities. Prior to that, Nilesh was a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) from 2003 to 2008, contributing to various projects using Java/J2EE.

Nilesh began their career in 2002 as a Software Engineer at Reliance Communications, where they developed Intelligent Network Solutions using C++ and Java/J2EE technologies.

Additionally, Nilesh gained practical experience during their time at INSEAD Business School, where they completed their Practice School-II in 2002.

Overall, Nilesh Shirbhate has held key leadership positions in engineering teams, specializing in fog computing, data center solutions, and intelligent network development.

Nilesh Shirbhate obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, graduating in the year 2002. In 2009, they attended the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore for an Executive Education program in Leadership Development, which lasted for a year. Alongside their formal education, Nilesh also obtained a certification as a Certified Scrum Product Owner from GoodAgile in November 2012.
