Terry Vanduyn

Terry VanDuyn has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in product management, coaching, and consulting. They began their career as a Community Health Worker in the Peace Corps, providing health education and promotion in Morocco. They later worked as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan, developing curriculum and teaching media-related courses.

Terry then joined Wellness & Prevention, Inc., where they planned and built innovative products for online health behavioral programs. They also worked as a Product Manager and Behavioral Scientist at Vocatta, Inc., managing product roadmaps and guiding strategy for health-related messaging applications.

Terry's experience also includes roles as a Digital Health Consultant, providing product strategy and prototype development for health tech start-ups, and as a Senior Product Manager at Everyday Health Inc., where they focused on personalized content experiences.

They have also served as an Advisor for Vidcode, a Y Combinator-backed startup focused on teaching coding to teens. They were responsible for connecting coding with the teens' interests and leveraging their own content in coding projects.

Terry later joined General Assembly as a Senior Product Manager, and then worked as a Product Management Coach at UC Berkeley Executive Education, where they focused on customer-centric product management.

Currently, Terry is working at Kickstarter, where they started as a Team Lead and Senior Product Manager for Project Community and then worked as a Group Product Manager. They are currently serving as the Director of Product Management.

Terry VanDuyn obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a minor in Political Science from the University at Buffalo, where they attended from 2001 to 2004. Later on, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Michigan from 2008 to 2010. Their field of study during their MPH program included Public Health, Health Behavior Health Education, and Health Communication. Additionally, in November 2012, Terry VanDuyn obtained a certification in "Learn to Program: The Fundamentals" from Coursera.
