Skylar Hurst is an experienced educator and implementation specialist currently supporting districts and teachers with the StudySync ELA curriculum for grades 6-12 since February 2021. Previous roles include serving as a Teacher Coach at EdConnective, where individualized coaching was provided to enhance teaching practices, and as a 7th grade ELA teacher at KIPP KC, where a focus was placed on student growth and personalized support. Other notable positions include Middle School English Teacher at Scuola Vita Nuova Charter School, English Language Arts Teacher at Ewing Marion Kauffman School, and a role with Teach For America as a Corps Member. Skylar has also designed a cross-curricular project grant for a month-long study in Peru and taught professional development for English teachers in China. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Emporia State University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Social Psychology and Journalism from The University of Kansas.
