Andrea Mangones

Andrea Mangones has extensive work experience in the legal field. Andrea is currently the Director of Legal Training and Technical Assistance at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), where they previously served as a Managing Attorney. Prior to their role at KIND, Andrea worked as a Senior Pro Bono Coordinating Attorney and Pro Bono Coordinating Attorney at the organization. Before joining KIND, they were an Associate at Latham & Watkins from 2010 to 2016. Andrea also worked as a Volunteer Immigration/Public Policy Attorney at the Tahirih Justice Center in 2009. Andrea has additional experience as a Research and Publications Intern at Women for Women International in 2009. Andrea began their legal career as a Summer Associate at Latham & Watkins in 2008. Andrea also worked as a Research Associate at the Public International Law and Policy Group in 2007. Andrea began their professional career as a Docket Clerk/Legal Assistant at the Office of Administrative Hearings from 2004 to 2006.

Andrea Mangones has a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Policy - Peace and Conflict Resolution from the American University - School of International Service, which they obtained from 2006 to 2009. During the same period, they also completed a Juris Doctor (J.D.), Summa Cum Laude, at the American University Washington College of Law. Their undergraduate education was completed at Duke University from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Relations, with a focus on Women's Studies.
