Kennedy Weathers

Kennedy Weathers is a dedicated legal professional currently serving as a Staff Attorney at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) since August 2022. Prior experience includes a Justice Fellowship with Immigrant Justice Corps, along with roles as a Law Clerk for Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and Legal Extern at both Maxwell Street Legal Clinic and Kentucky Refugee Ministries. Kennedy Weathers also completed a legal internship with the Southern Poverty Law Center, focusing on the Southeast Immigrant Freedom Initiative, and interned under The Hon. Lucinda Masterton. Prior legal experience encompasses over six years as a Legal Assistant at the Law Office of Yavon L. Griffin, where Spanish translation services were provided for clients, and brand ambassadorship with Marketing Excellence. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish from Spelman College, supplemented by study at Universidad de Málaga.
