Stephanie Ortega

Stephanie Ortega is a dedicated legal professional with extensive experience in immigration and crisis intervention. Currently serving as a Senior Paralegal on the Released Team at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), Stephanie tracks and records metrics for the Vera grant while providing training on policies to paralegals and the release team. Previous roles include crisis intervention for survivors of sexual assault as a Bilingual Case Management Specialist at Resilience, and various legal internships where Stephanie supported underserved immigrant communities and assisted with legal documentation. An educational background in Criminology, Law and Justice from the University of Illinois Chicago further enhances Stephanie's qualifications in the legal field.
