Trevor Sutherland

Trevor Sutherland is an experienced engineering professional with a background in pavement design and asset management. Currently a Senior Engineer at Kier Group since October 2019, Trevor led the design work for the M27 J5 to J7 Concrete Overlay Scheme and coordinated multifaceted design efforts for Highways England. Previously, as Principal Engineer at Independent Consultancy, Trevor developed specifications for a Section 278 scheme in Central London, ensuring compliance with multiple highway authorities. Trevor's tenure at East Sussex County Council as Asset Manager involved establishing and leading an Asset Management Team to oversee maintenance of varied highway assets. Earlier, experience included roles at Highways England and Globe Energy Services LLC, as well as a foundational career beginning at Pharoah Cement. Trevor holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg and Rand Academic University, completed between 2001 and 2004.
