Paul Buchanan

Paul Buchanan is an experienced geologist with a career spanning over four decades. Currently serving as a Geology Instructor at Kilgore College since 2007, Buchanan has also held various research and teaching positions, including a Visiting Researcher role at Rhodes University, a Research Fellow at the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, and multiple roles focusing on the Bushveld Complex and HED meteorites. Educational credentials include a PhD in Geology from the University of Houston, an MSc in Geophysics and Seismology from the Colorado School of Mines, and a BSc in Geology/Earth Science from the University of Texas at Austin. Buchanan’s professional background encompasses a senior geophysicist position at ARCO Oil and Gas, where expertise in interpreting geophysical data was applied to various regions across the United States.
