Meredith Burke Hammons, Ph.D., GPC

Meredith Burke Hammons, Ph.D., GPC has a diverse and extensive work experience. From 2021 to the present, they are serving as a Client Engagement Specialist at Kim Joyce & Associates. Prior to that, from 2020 to 2021, they worked as a Research and Grant Writing Subcontractor for various companies, specializing in education, youth development, and human services. Meredith also held the position of Assistant Director at the Johnson O'Connor Research Foundation from 2014 to 2021, where they became known for explaining aptitude results to clients and initiated an outreach program. From 2011 to 2014, they worked as a Reference and Systems Librarian at the Pitts Theology Library, providing valuable research assistance and supervision for the Digital Image Archive. Additionally, from 2008 to 2011, Meredith served as a Circulation Supervisor at the San Mateo County Library, creating a staff blog and leading training programs. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Special Assistant for Collections at the Vanderbilt University Divinity Library from 2005 to 2008. Finally, Meredith gained experience at the Divinity Library from 2000 to 2005, first as an Evening/Weekend Supervisor and later as a Bibliographer.

Meredith Burke Hammons, Ph.D., GPC completed their education in several prestigious institutions. Meredith Burke obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Davidson College and went on to pursue further studies at Vanderbilt University, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Religion. Meredith Burke then proceeded to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they completed a Masters degree in Library and Information Science. Additionally, they undertook a Master of Arts degree in English at Wake Forest University.
