As Senior Food Security and Early Warning Advisor for the FEWS NET Hub, Sarah is responsible for supporting the team with strategic planning, drafting and editing project deliverables, gender analyses and administrative oversight. Sarah has focused her career on promoting agriculture as an engine of prosperity and human development for men and women engaged in smallholder agriculture. Most of her work experience has been in Africa, designing, directing and managing large multi-country field projects in very poor countries faced with civil insecurity. With a doctorate in international agricultural policy from Stanford University, Sarah also has expertise in policy research and action-oriented analyses of complex situations. Before coming to Kimetrica, Sarah served most recently as Chief Economist at the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC). Beyond agricultural production and markets, she has technical and analytical experience promoting, monitoring and evaluating food and nutrition security (socio-economic studies, gender, HIV and famine early warning systems).
