Principal Product Manager at Kin + Carta

Heather Miles has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Heather is currently working at Kin + Carta Europe, where they started as a Senior Product Manager in May 2019. Heather was promoted to Lead Product Manager in March 2021 and then to Principal Product Manager in August 2022.

Prior to joining Kin + Carta Europe, Heather worked at The App Business from August 2017 to May 2019. Their role there was a combination of a product manager, account manager, and delivery lead. Heather led cross-functional teams in developing mobile, web, and backend products for clients such as RBS, Racing Post, Ford, and dunnhumby.

Before that, Heather worked as an Operational Improvement Consultant at Newton Europe from August 2016 to April 2017. Heather focused on improving sourcing strategy, supply chain efficiencies, and streamlining in-house operations for a private sector client.

Heather's earlier experience includes working as a PHD Researcher at the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies, University of Bath, from October 2011 to January 2016. Heather conducted self-directed research on upgrading waste biomass feedstocks and collaborated with Airbus Group Innovations on developing renewable fuel additives. Heather also communicated the impact of their research outcomes to non-specialists at quarterly update meetings.

In addition, Heather had a brief role as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the Joint BioEnergy Institute in February 2015 and worked as a Science Technician at The Royal High School Bath from September 2010 to September 2011.

Heather Miles obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Sustainable Chemical Technologies from the University of Bath between 2011 and 2016. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Research in Sustainable Chemical Technologies at the same institution in 2011-2012. Heather's undergraduate degree is an MSci in Chemistry from the University of Bristol, which they earned from 2006 to 2010. In addition to their academic qualifications, Heather also holds a Behavioral Economics Bootcamp Certificate from Irrational Labs, obtained in 2021.
