Jim Beacom

Jim Beacom has a diverse work experience spanning over different roles and companies. Jim is currently working at Kinaxis as the Director of Cloud Platform Engineering, where they lead teams in migrating from SaaS private data center hosted solutions to public cloud. Jim also partners with the Operations team to design and deliver solutions for cloud platform and application operations.

Prior to their current role, Jim worked at IBM for over a decade. Jim'sroles at IBM included being a Senior Development Manager, where they led a team that rewrote the cloud delivery of an on-prem offering and helped hundreds of developers deliver code. Jim also managed teams responsible for new development, administration, configuration, and installation of Cognos Analytics.

Before IBM, Jim worked at Cognos as a Development Manager for Software Maintenance and Support. Jim formed a level 3 development team to offload urgent customer diagnostics and defect fixing.

Earlier in their career, Jim worked at Newbridge Networks as a Manager of Strategic Network Support and Sales Engineer, where they led teams of senior support analysts and was responsible for proposing network solutions and meeting with existing and prospective customers.

Jim started their career at AstenJohnson as a Software Developer.

Throughout their work experience, Jim has showcased their expertise in leading teams, overseeing development projects, and delivering solutions for enterprise customers.

Jim Beacom has a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering - Telecommunications from Carleton University. Jim is also a Professional Engineer certified by Professional Engineers Ontario (obtained in 1994).
