Koosha Tahmasebipour

Koosha Tahmasebipour has a strong background in machine learning and data science. Koosha is currently working as a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Kinaxis since July 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Viafoura from September 2021 to June 2022, where they led the development of a near real-time recommender system using various technologies such as AWS Sagemaker, AWS Glue & EMR, Elasticache, Lambda, and Terraform.

Prior to their time at Rogers Communications, Koosha worked at RBC as a Data Scientist from September 2017 to September 2018, and as a Data Engineer from May 2016 to September 2017. Koosha was responsible for utilizing their expertise in data science and engineering to drive insights and build data-driven solutions.

Earlier in their career, Koosha worked at Inspirata Canada as an AI Software Developer from December 2014 to May 2016. In this role, they focused on using AI technologies such as NLP, text mining, and machine learning to extract structured information from pathology reports for medical analysis and diagnostic purposes.

Koosha's career began at Brock University, where they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Lab Instructor, and Graduate Research Assistant from September 2012 to December 2014. During this time, they also served as a Seminar Leader and conducted research on disease-gene association using a genetic algorithm.

Additionally, Koosha has significant experience in the field of programming. Koosha worked as a Contestant, Problem Designer, and Coach at Shahid Beheshti University ACM-ICPC programming chapter from January 2007 to January 2011. Koosha also served as a Teaching Assistant during the same period. Furthermore, they worked as a Web Developer and Database Designer at Asseman Web Developing Group from January 2008 to November 2008.

Koosha Tahmasebipour earned a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Brock University from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, Koosha obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Software Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University between 2006 and 2011. Koosha also holds a High School Diploma in Mathematics from the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents (Sampad), although the specific years of attendance are unknown.
