Paul Fischer

Senior Forester

Paul Fischer is an experienced forestry professional currently serving as a Senior Forester for King County, WA since July 2020, where responsibilities include planning and managing forest stewardship actions, assisting small-scale forest owners, and supporting the county’s forest carbon offset program. Prior to this role, Paul owned and led Resilient Forestry LLC, focusing on restoration-oriented forestry and community forestry in western Washington. Additional experience includes serving as a Forest Ecology Research Analyst at the University of Washington, where Paul instructed an applied forestry course and guided students in developing forest stewardship plans. Previous roles also include positions at Stewardship Forestry, Stanford University, Climate Solutions, and HDR Engineering, where Paul contributed to various environmental and forestry projects. Paul holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Forestry and Environmental Policy from the University of Washington, alongside Bachelor's degrees in Biology and Watershed Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, respectively.
