Joe Koonankeil

Joe Koonankeil is an experienced Process Safety Engineer currently leading Process Hazard Analysis studies at King Industries since December 2020. Prior to this role, Joe served as Technical Manager at TOTAL from January 2014 to December 2020, overseeing process engineering activities, monitoring operations, and driving process optimization. Joe also held Technical Manager positions at Cray Valley USA, LLC, and Sartomer USA, LLC, where responsibilities included production support and management of quality control labs. Earlier experience includes roles as Senior Process Engineer and Process Engineer, focused on chemical manufacturing operations and compliance with safety standards. Joe began a career in engineering as a Chemical Engineer CO-OP at Uniroyal Chemical Corporation and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
